Save Don’t Spend

Here at Enigin Plc we want to help and encourage others to get through the tough economic times we are still in the middle of. It is true that businesses have been affected, and so has the general public.

People are becoming more aware and careful with their money. Although this is very hard in todays climate, of “want it, buy it”. I don’t think for everyone the sudden hit of the recession has actually “hit” them completely. A lot of blame of the last couple years has gone on the fact that the UK especially has become, well, greedy for material things. People have been able to get loans, credit cards, mortgages with a click of a button. And it is definitely true that this has changed peoples view of money and use of it.

Uncertain World - Control Your Energy Use

You Always Need Something

I was just discussing money with a friend of mine, as we all do. It does seem to be a big topic for most peoples conversations. Whether you have it or not, there is always some issue there to be discussed.

But the point we were making in our conversation is the fact that there is always something you need. Some item or thing you need to pay for. Every month something either crops up that has to be covered. Or something breaks and needs replacing. Or someone needs new shoes or a new coat. Every season, clothes need to be updated, more suitable footwear or clothes need to be purchased for the winter or summer months. There is always something!

Bonus Time

I got a very welcome phone call today at lunch time from my husband. He is receiving a bonus with his pay this month - and what a bonus for us that is. A wonderfully welcome piece of news and a very much needed cash sum.

It is funny how we think about money though. Suddenly with the news of this bonus coming as a huge extra this month you start planning in your head what you can do with it. All the lists of bits and pieces you need to get or replace. Whether it is things for the house and home, or for the family, there is always something.

Within your home or your business do you find that money is pouring away at times? In many peoples lives money is just such a difficult thing to control and look after, it is much easier to spend it!

But are you using your money in the right place? Perhaps your saving it, or using it to invest. Are you taking measures to make sure your not paying out for things you don’t need?

When you do research on money issues many places first suggest you right down a budget. A list with all your monthly outgoings and all your incoming money. It always shocks me that many people don’t already do this. And a lot of the time when people do right a budget down when they don’t usually, they find that they have money being spent in random places, or on random things that they didn’t realise was being paid for.
